Tutoring tailored for AP, IB, and other accelerated learners

Here at MSI, we offer tutoring for program specific students, such as those in the AP and IB programs, as well as tutoring and enrichment for accelerated learners. Specifically:

·        One-on-one / private tutoring that’s based on tutoring the student according to their specialized program.

·         Help with assignments, and guidance on how to earn maximum possible marks.

·         Preparation for the Advanced Placement (AP) exams and International Baccalaureate tests and exams using our extensive library of resources that includes previous assignments and tests from AP and IB programs from across the GTA. Specialized preparation designed to prepare students to take their AP exams.

·         Enrichment and accelerated learning for those who wish to get a head start on their studies. This includes access to more advanced questions and practice at their current level, as well as resources to accelerate them beyond their current level.

MSI currently caters to many students that are in either the AP or IB programs. Through experience, we have gained an in depth understanding of the expectations placed on students in either of these programs. That is why we offer AP and IB students specialized tutoring that’s tailored to their needs. We also have resources that are dedicated solely to preparing AP students to take their AP exams. These resources teach our students how to take their AP exams, while exposing them to the kinds of questions they will see on their exam. So if your in an in the AP or IB program and your looking for help, look no further because we can help! For more information, please feel free to contact us.

Advanced Placement information (AP)

University credits can be earned by taking specialized courses called AP courses. These courses are specifically designed to teach and test students at a higher level in order to prepare them for an exam called an AP exam. These exams are typically taken during the student’s grade 12 year, and the material covered on the tests will be at the same level as the material they will find at the university level. To get them there, teachers will teach the courses up to grade 12 at a more advanced level, while their grade 12 courses will be equivalent to a 1st year university level course in that subject area.

International Baccalaureate Information (IB)

*** Below is information on the IBO. Although MSI currently does tutor, and has tutored, students from many of the schools listed below, unfortunately we do not have experience with all schools. Further, MSI employs IB tutors with a varying range of IB and international experience. Although our staff of IB tutors who possess a great deal of experience is growing, because the IB curriculum is still fairly new here in Toronto finding tutors and others educators with a high level of of experience with the IB curriculum is very challenging. As director, I assure I am constantly searching for the very best tutors through my networks and connections and, as MSI continues to grow, so does our staff of the most highly qualified IB tutors.***

The International Baccalaureate (IB) program is best suited for those looking for advanced placement in universities worldwide.

The International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) is a non-profit international educational organization. The IBO works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programs of international education and rigorous assessment.

The IBO offers to schools three programs of international education that span the primary, middle, and secondary school years. The Primary Years Program (PYP) is designed for students aged 3-12, the Middle Years Program (MYP) for students aged 11-16, and the Diploma Program (DP) for students aged 16-19. Recipients of the IB diploma enjoy a high rate of acceptance at leading universities.

IB programs are offered by 1,468 schools in 119 countries around the world. In the Greater Toronto Area, there are 14 public schools and 5 private schools offering IB programs.
